Civil Servants an association of retired workers from the United Nations (UN) organisations and agencies, has presented items worth millions of cedis to Oyarifa Presbyterian Primary School in the Ga district recently. The items were made of dual-desks, 6 tables and chairs out of which the dual-desks are to be used by the pupils,and, the tables and chairs are for the teachers of the school.
Dr. Samuel Brew Graves, vice president of GAFICS, presented the items which were received by Mrs Victoria Opoku, a district director of education.
Dr. Brew-Graves, during the presentation, noted that there was the need for well-meaning organisations to come to theaid of the less privileged in society.
He added that education is very important in the life of every growing child, and that every effort must be made to help them reap the full benefits of education.
Receiving the item on behalf of the school. Mrs. Opoku expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude for what the association has done 'or the school.
She stressed that the gesture will, in a long way, improve the quality of education in the school. She, however, urged the school authorities to help school children to take good care or the donated items for others too to benefit from their use.
